 Hi there once again.  This time I come with a pretty interesting video that I keep coming back to every now and then. Not only is it entertaining, but it's also educational, and makes you think about how fast fashion brands steal from the hard work of designer.  To sum the video up, she previously made a video about designing the red dress, which she sewed by hand, and later, she was told by some people that her dress's picture was in one of those cheap clothing brand sites. So she decided to investigate and try the knockoff dress herself. She then goes on to discuss about how these brands affect clothing designers and how on top of that these brands tend to use cheap labour to make as many clothes as possible with the lowest cost. In this day and age, the news tend to have a lot of negative content such as political conflicts, economical crisis, tragic accidents etc. But how come we never hear about good things happening around us? Why do we rarely hear about people trying to change the world for the better, even a little bit? These questinos led me to a site called Positive News , which is exactly what its name implies, just a bunch of positive stories and good things that happened that the normal news outlet usually don't tell us. From my observation, at least 60% of their news are environment related, such as renewable energy or progress in sustainablity, but they also talk about positive things that happen in ongoing conflict zones as well. And personally, it's a website that inspires me to do better, be concsious in my choices for products, and just be aware of things that are going around the world without feeling hopeless. Hello! My name is Lina, but I prefer to be called Lin. I'm currently 23 years old (will be 24 in October!) and a fourth year student in DHU. I was born in Japan, but when I was 8, I moved to Syria, my other home country. However, sadly only after 2 years we had to leave because of the political unrest that was happening at the time, and fly over to our neighboring country, Egypt. I had such a fun 2 years there, until my family decided to move to Turkey. And lived in Istanbul until around 4 years ago when I finally decided to study in Japan, after 2 drop outs in Istanbul.
